Celebrating Our Graduates: A Heartfelt Tribute to the Class of 2025

As graduation approaches, our hearts are full of pride and gratitude. At the Binghamton University Liberty Partnerships Program (Binghamton LPP), we are honored to celebrate every one of our students who is reaching this incredible milestone. Whether they joined us recently or have been part of our program for years, each student has left a lasting mark on our hearts and on their schools.

We’ve had the privilege of watching many of these students grow from curious, determined middle schoolers into thoughtful, passionate, and resilient young adults. They’ve faced challenges, set goals, and pushed themselves to reach new heights. And now, they’re preparing to take the next step into college, careers, and bright futures—and we couldn’t be prouder.

Some of our graduates have been with LPP from the very beginning of their secondary school journey. We’ve had the unique honor of walking beside them year after year, offering guidance, support, and encouragement. Watching them cross the stage this year will be an emotional and joyful moment for our entire LPP family.

We’d like to take a moment to spotlight just a few of these incredible students who have been with us the longest:

FelixM

Felix

Felix has been a dedicated member of the Binghamton LPP since 6th grade and has truly left his mark at Johnson City High School. As a standout athlete, he’s competed in track tournaments, played football, and served as a leader on the basketball team. His talent and hard work earned him recognition on the All-Section IV First Team by The Basketball Coaches Association of New York.

Felix has done an outstanding job balancing academics, athletics, and his social life. He will be attending Monroe Community College this fall, and we are so proud of all he has accomplished. We wish him the very best in his next chapter!

alexea

Alexea

When she joined the Binghamton LPP in sixth grade, Alexea quickly became a leader and mentor to those around her. She guided younger students with time management, navigating school challenges, and staying on track academically, all while promoting community involvement. Her commitment to equity and social justice has only deepened over the years. In college, she plans to continue this important work by joining organizations that promote educational access and advocate for marginalized communities.

With plans to study forensic psychology, Alexea dreams of a future in victim advocacy. She shared the following quote, which highlights her committment to helping others:

“Social justice is not just a passion; it’s a lifelong commitment to standing up for fairness, dignity, and human potential. My time with the Liberty Partnerships Program has taught me that small acts of support can have a big impact—and that creating a more just world starts by lifting each other up.”

JacksonJ

Jackson

Jackson also joined the Binghamton LPP in the 6th grade, and continues to shine as a dedicated and high-achieving student. His hard work and commitment to excellence have earned him school-wide recognition for maintaining a 95+ average throughout the entire school year. Jackson’s academic success is a reflection of his focus, perseverance, and passion for learning. He has plans to become an accountant one day. We are so proud to have been part of his journey and can’t wait to see all the incredible things he will accomplish in the future!

Zachary (“Zach”)

Having also been with us since the 6th grade, Zach is headed to Rochester Institute of Technology this fall to study Game Design and Development—a field that perfectly combines his creativity, technical skills, and passion for innovation. A longtime participant in Liberty’s summer programming, Zach worked as a camp counselor for three years and took part in numerous community service projects, including volunteer work with the Southern Tier Food Bank. He’s also participated in a wide variety of school activities, from wrestling and track to e-sports and the games club—all while holding a part-time job for the past two years. As the oldest sibling in his family, Zach has consistently been a role model and leader.

“Liberty taught me how to talk to people and step out of my comfort zone,” Zach shared.“I’m really excited to have a fresh start and experience the world for myself in college at RIT.”

To all of our graduates:

Thank you for letting us be a part of your journey. You have inspired us with your determination, kindness, and strength. As you step into this new chapter, know that we’ll always be cheering you on.

Congratulations, Class of 2025—we are so incredibly proud of you!
