Welcome Back to Feature Friday
What is Feature Friday?
Every Friday during the school year we celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our Liberty students. These weekly spotlights showcase the diverse talents, achievements, and acts of kindness that make our students shine.
So far this fall we've had plenty of students to feature! Here's a few that have really impressed us with their actions and accomplishments.
Khamani
Binghamton High School Liberty is excited to introduce Khamani John as the first Feature Friday Liberty student of the 2025-2026 school year!
Khamani is a 10th grader at BHS and has been involved in Liberty since 7th grade at West Middle School. This past summer Khamani spent over a month in Guyana training and trying out with the “Football Federation.” He shared that this was an experience to help improve his soccer skills as well as compete with others from around the world.
As a sophomore, Khamani is also a valuable member of the Binghamton Varsity Boys Soccer Team playing Midfield with highlights that have been featured in local news stories.
We at BHS Liberty continue to cheer on #5!!
Madison
SVHS Liberty is happy to recognize Madison Turner, a junior at SV who has been in LPP for the past 2 years.
This school year Madison has challenged herself academically and is taking multiple AP, Honors, and College level classes. She works so hard to excel in her studies and it is paying off! It is wonderful to see her confidence building each day.
Madison is also a key member of our Drama and Spirit Clubs. She is compassionate, caring and always willing to pitch in when help is needed.
Last Spring, Madison attended our LPP Empire Promise Youth Summit and hasn't stopped asking to go to the next one! It was wonderful to see her take charge and show her leadership skills! Mads is one of the best parts of my day and LPP is lucky to have her!
Erica
Erica Edwards has been part of Liberty since her middle school days and continues to shine through her involvement in our Summer Program, volunteer opportunities and other fun events that Liberty has to offer.
Erica is a dedicated student, a leader among her peers, and is even running for Homecoming Queen this year!
We are so proud of all that Erica has accomplished and can’t wait to see what’s next for her!
Jalayah
The East Middle School LPP is proud to recognize Jalayah Tribble, a 3rd year Liberty Partnership student.
Jalayah is an active Band AND Orchestra member of the EMS ensemble. She has consistently achieved High Honor Roll status in her time with LPP.
Jalayah has been a constant leader for the EMS community and LPP.
Alexis
Alexis Slater is embarking on her third year with LPP. She’s committed to excelling academically and strives for success.
Alexis is also part of the swim team. Recently, she earned 1st place in the Girls’ 50 Yard Freestyle, 1st place in the Girls’ 200 Yard Freestyle, and 2nd place in the girls’ 100 Yard Freestyle.
We’re so proud of her achievements and look forward to seeing what Alexis will accomplish next.
Tyler
We want to recognize Tyler Smallze for his incredible growth and dedication this school year. Tyler has consistently challenged himself, leading to impressive improvements in his Academics and Attendance, and he's currently on track to achieve High Honor Roll!
What makes this even more remarkable? Tyler has accomplished all of this while successfully managing his responsibilities as a dedicated Student-Athlete, juggling his role during travel Lacrosse and preparing for Empire in Albany this spring.
Beyond his success, Tyler has stepped up to be a true role model student. His positive attitude and leadership qualities have made a real impact, positively influencing and inspiring his peers.
Congratulations, Tyler, on setting such a high standard for excellence! We are so proud of your hard work.
