Feature Friday: April
What is Feature Friday?
Every Friday we celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our Liberty students, from all of our schools! These weekly spotlights showcase the diverse talents, achievements, and acts of kindness that make our students shine, including:
- Scoring big in games
- Acing tests or making academic strides
- Demonstrating leadership or kindness in the classroom
Meet Our April Featured Students!
We're so proud to highlight Veena Avdel, Jenika Dhillon, Anaya Lucas, and Mariame Sall -- four outstanding Johnson City High School students who attended this year's annual Empire Youth Promise Summit held in Downtown Binghamton!
These dedicated students took part in survivor-inspired challenges, creative-thinking exercises, and team-building activities designed to strengthen leadership skills and collaboration. These girls have consistently demonstrated what it means to be a leader both in and out of the classroom, and we are so excited for them to be a part of this unique learning experience!

Myles
Myles Bahnuk is a freshman in the SV Liberty Partnerships Program! He is consistently putting in the work to better himself, whether it's in the classroom, on the field, or in the pool.
Myles is also a great friend and teammate to all. He is polite, respectful and always the first to say hi and offer a smile! Most recently, he has completed the training program to become a certified lifeguard.
Myles is a 3-sport athlete (football, swimming/dive, track and field), a musician, a new lifeguard and all while maintaining Honor Roll status!
Thank you Myles for allowing me to be on this journey with you! I am excited for your future!

Narvi
Narvi McPeak (they/them) is a dedicated and hardworking student who has maintained High Honor Roll all year while constantly seeking to expand their knowledge.
Narvi is an active participant in the Student Teacher Training Association (STTA) college class, where they gain hands-on experience in education, preparing for a future in teaching. Beyond their studies, they also serve as a student employee, working closely with elementary students each week.
What truly sets Narvi apart is their kindness, authenticity, and leadership. They are a positive role model who uplifts those around them. One of my favorite things about Narvi? Every day, they bring a fun fact of the day, sparking engaging conversations that bring students—and me—together.
Thank you, Narvi, for your hard work, positivity, and for making Liberty an even better place!
