Binghamton Rumble Ponies Donate $5,000 to Support BU Liberty Partnerships Program

The Binghamton University Liberty Partnerships Program (BU LPP) is proud to share that the Binghamton Rumble Ponies have generously donated $5,000 to support our students and programming. This contribution will directly fund caps and gowns for graduating seniors, as well as Advocacy Day—two meaningful experiences that celebrate achievement and empower student voices.

Advocacy Day gives LPP students the opportunity to travel to Albany, NY, where they meet with government leaders and discuss critical issues such as public education funding and equity. Students are selected for this immersive experience based on their leadership, academic achievement, and community involvement. Advocacy Day not only deepens students’ understanding of government and civic engagement, but also inspires them to become active advocates for change within their communities.

“We’re proud to support organizations that are making a real difference,” said Rich Tylicki, General Manager of the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. “When we can give back to different organizations like we just did today it’s so important because they have their own missions in the community. Whether it’s education, whether it’s food insecurity, whether it’s domestic violence, they also provide valuable services and this helps them do that.”

The Rumble Ponies—Eastern League Champions and a beloved local baseball team—are currently in their fourth year of the Rumble Ponies Foundation Season of Giving, continuing their strong commitment to supporting organizations across the Greater Binghamton community.

We are incredibly grateful to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies for investing in our students and helping make these impactful opportunities possible.
