Julie Ticehurst. She is always there for me and is ready to talk when ever I need it.

My dad (Adhilah Moulana) was usually away from work and it was often in very isolating and lonely situations. He worked very hard to make sure me and my siblings were able to live comfortably. Along with that, whenever he was home he would spend so much time with us and make sure he was always around. He took up responsibilities to help my mom out and did his best to make up for the lost time.

My mom (Joey Zhong) has shown me time and time again how to be a strong woman, how to be maintain relationships and not back down in the face of adversity, she has always been able to quell my worries night after night and I would not be who I am today without her.

Nema Sayeed helped me transition into MSA at BU by driving to the mosque and gifting me an abaya.

My grandma Fatma is more than a guiding light; she is the strength that shaped my life and the love that made me who I am today. Because of her, I walk through the world with pride. Facing the unimaginable hardships of the Saddam Hussein regime, she sought asylum in the United States, arriving with nothing but hope and determination. Despite so many obstacles, she built a new life from the ground up, giving selflessly to create a better future for her children and grandchildren. She taught us, by the way she lived, the importance of perseverance, hard work, and education. Her love is a source of endless inspiration. I am proud to be her granddaughter and forever grateful for the strength and guidance she has given us all.

My grandma is someone who always inspires me. She worked most of her lives to support my mom and dad in America. She is truly someone who is strong and inspires me to push through all barriers. She also taught me that anything is possible and work hard for everything.

My mother [Sheila Weissman] has helped through so much! When I studied abroad in Israel and the war broke out she guided me through the hard times and always game me a caring, loving and supportive ear. It has not been an easy transition from studying abroad in Israel, Greece, New York and New Jersey, to finally finding my place here at Binghamton University. It has been a hard transition and to this day she continues to guide and support me. I’m forever grateful for your love and support , I love you mom ❤️

"He is my big thats been through so much, he fills out all of the requirements, helped me through so much even when we first didn’t know each other that well, our bond grew so great"

My mom is my hero, she's a teacher who works so far beyond the regular hours of a teacher, arriving early and staying late and she's always available to her students, yet she is also always there for her family. I don't know how she does it all, but she does!

My mom (Adhilah Moulana) worked really hard to raise me and my 3 siblings. My dad was away for work a lot so she was usually raising us alone. That being said she was always very attentive, she would take me for football(soccer) practices, take me to cricket practice, wake up early for breakfast and moved to different places to make sure we had the best education we had. She sacrificed a lot in her life for us and that's why she's my hero.

I would like to nominate Liz as an Everyday Hero. Liz is my work ride-or-die and my go-to for everything! She is uber intelligent, kind, thoughtful, and an amazing listener. One of the hardest workers I know, Liz has her hand in a bit of it all—and she is simply awesome.

Toni Dougherty is the director of the Binghamton JCC Early Childhood Center, and she was an amazing support to myself and the children I cared for when I worked there, and I know she continues to be a massive support to the whole ECC community. She was especially helpful in supporting staff who worked with children with disabilities or had disabilities themselves, and I always saw her giving endless effort into giving any children she ever came across an amazing opportunity for early growth, regardless of their circumstances.

My dad [Wasim Mohamed] has been in the U.S. Navy for almost 30 years and has been the backbone of my family, recruits, coworkers, friends, and even strangers. Regardless of where we are, my dad is always helping people. When we travel or move abroad, my dad always gives back to the local community - whether it be monetary or kindness. In India, he brought a bunch of toys and gave them to a random tuk tuk driver that has two kids. Since the act in 2023, the driver has sent religious blessings every single day thanking him for his kindness. My dad has dedicated the last three decades of his life ensuring his children get everything we need, including college tuition, rent, food, shelter, and more. There’s no doubt in my mind that my father has shaped the lives of thousands around him, regardless of how small or large the act is.

When i first moved to america he [Kyle Baldus] was the only one who provided full transparency and honesty. He was not only a teacher but also a coach and a life mentor. he truly gave me a new outlook on like.

He [Brian Loy] is always so entertaining and engaging in class and you feel welcome even in a big environment

Brian Loy is my hero because he makes sure his students know everything about the law and makes sure his students are always safe.

And it really made a difference.Thank you for instilling in me a strong moral compass and a love for learning — gifts I carry with me every day. "I would like to nominate Anita Mahar as my hero. I have known Anita for over 20 years as a classmate, best friend, clinician, and partner in building business. This woman who has had extreme adversities and yet thrived as a clinician, mom and still has time to connect with others. She not only approaches situations with positive through processes and grace, but firm. She is kind in every aspect of the word. Being around Anita, you are automatically in a better space mentally and physically. She is a light that everyone needs in their life. Anita is beyond a hero. She is a staple that others should look up to."

Catie Gower helps support our office in many ways. it is behind the scenes mostly, but it keeps things moving, efficiently. It does not go unnoticed and without appreciation . Without her support and assistance it would not be the the same. Thank you Catie for all the things you do !
