# What to Expect When Your Child Joins the Binghamton LPP

Remember the first time your child learned to ride a bike? That wonderful mix of support and independence, with you running alongside until they were ready to take off on their own? That's exactly how we approach student success at the Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP).

When your child joins us, they're stepping into a welcoming space where academic excellence meets personal growth. What makes LPP truly special isn't just what we do—it's the way we do it.

## The LPP Difference: A Community of Support

LPP is more than just a program; it's a caring community. Your child will have access to friendly counselors and mentors who regularly check in, offer guidance, and provide a safe, welcoming space for students to tackle challenges.

- Students supporting students—We create a space where young people encourage and uplift each other.
- A bridge between school and community—LPP connects students with resources, partnerships, and real-world experiences that go beyond the classroom.
- A friend at every step—Middle and high school can be challenging. We're here to help students confidently navigate the academic and emotional hurdles of these important years.

## Academic & Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Support

We’re about supporting the whole student, not just their grades. Our approach combines academic help with social-emotional learning, helping students become strong, responsible, and confident leaders.

- Personalized guidance—Every student gets tailored support that fits their unique needs.
- College & career readiness—We offer college tours, mentorship, scholarships, and career exploration to help students succeed.
- Embracing growth—We encourage students to learn from challenges, focus on progress, and develop the skills they need to thrive.

## Beyond the Classroom: Real-World Growth

At LPP we believe learning happens everywhere. With hands-on experience, leadership growth, and service opportunities, students dive into real-world challenges that shape their futures.

- Summer jobs & internships—Students can jump into paid work experiences to start building job skills early.
- Community service & civic engagement—We love encouraging students to give back, take the lead, and find their sense of purpose.
- Exclusive LPP programs & events—Students get to meet other LPP members from all over the state, making connections and boosting their leadership skills.

## The Parent Partnership

You'll notice the difference in your child—perhaps it's their growing confidence, their strengthened sense of purpose, or their clearer vision for the future. As they develop these qualities, you'll have our support too. Open communication ensures you're always in the loop.

## A Legacy of Success

When students join LPP, they become part of something bigger than themselves. Our alumni network spans across industries and universities, creating a powerful community of mentors and role models. Your child isn't just joining a program—they're becoming part of a legacy of achievement.

## LPP Isn’t Just a Program—It’s a promise.

While the Liberty Partnerships Program offers comprehensive academic support, college preparation, and career exploration, we also offer something much more profound: a partnership in your child's journey to excellence.

If you’re a parent wondering what your child will experience in LPP, the answer is simple: they will be seen, heard, supported, and given the tools to build the future they deserve. [Learn more](https://www.binghamtonlpp.com/how-to-apply) about how to apply!

## Welcome to the LPP Family!
