  The Binghamton University Liberty Partnerships Program (BU/LPP) is an educational case management and community school model that supports over 475 students annually across Binghamton, Susquehanna Valley, and Johnson City school districts. Our full-time staff are embedded in each school to provide comprehensive academic, social-emotional, and personal development support. # Senior Showcase:  Johnson City High School

*As the end of the school year approaches, our senior LPP students are eagerly anticipating their next steps in life. Whether they're heading to college, entering the workforce, or joining the military, these remarkable individuals are ready to embark on exciting new journeys. Here’s an update on the seniors of Johnson City High School as they prepare for the next phase of their adventures:*

Throughout the school year, our seniors have demonstrated dedication and perseverance, ensuring all college applications and necessary forms were completed promptly. To keep motivation high, we implemented a sticker/hoodie reward system, encouraging them to maintain good grades, consistent attendance, and a spirit of mutual support.

As a culmination of their efforts, seniors will receive their alumni hoodies and green tassels, which they will proudly wear at graduation alongside their caps and gowns. This year, the seniors came together as a team to choose the color of their senior hoodies, showcasing their unity and collective spirit.

One standout moment was on June 10th, when Damaya Williams was honored at the senior scholarship night with the prestigious Dr. Lee Scholarship Award. Her essay highlighted the profound impact Liberty has had on her life, shaping her aspirations and future goals.

The Johnson City High School LPP boasts 18 graduating seniors this year, each with unique achievements. Savannah Fajardo-Shabazz, who ranked in the Top 10 of her class, will be attending the University at Buffalo for Exercise Science. Athanasia Mohamed shined in the school’s musical, “The Addams Family.” Bradley Hunt is set to join the National Guard, while Taylor Ackley earned college credits in Education, paving the way for her future degree in Childhood Education.

Out of our 18 graduating LPP seniors, 14 will be attending a SUNY school this fall.  One will be attending an out-of-state college (Tiffin University in Ohio).  Sincerity Batista and Cadence Bond both secured full-time positions and will be going right into the workforce, and Damian Modica has plans to become a Pastor.  This is a testament to the hard work of each of these students, and the support of the Liberty Partnerships Program.

At the heart of the Liberty Partnerships Program is our commitment to fostering academic success, personal growth, and a strong sense of community. By providing comprehensive support and encouragement, we empower our students to achieve their full potential and make meaningful contributions to society. As these seniors step into the world, they carry with them the values and skills cultivated through LPP, ready to create a brighter future for themselves and others.
