What is Feature Friday?
Every Friday during the school year we celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our Liberty students. These weekly spotlights showcase the diverse talents, achievements, and acts of kindness that make our students shine.
Leah, Aubrey, Macey & Maura
These four students (Leah Diffendorf, Aubrey Newton, Macey Polhamus and Maura Heater) truly deserve recognition for the Everyday Heroes campaign. They dedicated countless hours to the Heroes Quest Challenge, fully committing themselves to every task and participating in each challenge with enthusiasm and determination.
We are incredibly proud of their commitment and perseverance throughout this journey. Not only do they consistently strive for academic success, but they also demonstrate kindness, character, and a strong work ethic—both in the classroom and on the field.
These four young women are the definition of everyday heroes, and we could not be more proud to have them as part of the Liberty Partnerships Program at SV!
Keon
This week we are excited to recognize Keon Saintilien, a junior at Johnson City High School who has been a part of Liberty since 7th grade. Keon brings such a positive energy wherever he goes. He is an extremely hard worker and one of the most social students — always including others in conversations, making people laugh, and helping everyone feel like they truly belong to a family and community.
Keon’s dedication to basketball stands out year-round. Whether it’s during the season, off-season workouts, or extra time in the gym, he consistently puts in the effort to improve his skills and support his teammates. His commitment and passion for the game are clear, and he plans to continue playing basketball in college after he graduates next year.
In addition to his athletic dedication, Keon consistently keeps his grades up, maintains excellent attendance, and earns Honor Roll recognition. His ability to balance academics, athletics, and leadership truly speaks to his determination and work ethic. Keep up the great work, Keon!
Sydney
This week, we’re proud to highlight Sydney Johnson, a 6th-grade student at West Middle School who joined Liberty this year. She is hardworking, resilient, kind, friendly, and always brings positive energy to everything she does. What she values most about herself is her perseverance—if something doesn’t come easily at first, she doesn’t give up, but instead approaches challenges with determination and a willingness to try again. Her strong work ethic and growth mindset are evident in how she embraces learning and continues to push herself to improve.
Sydney stays actively involved both in and out of the classroom. She participates in Orchestra and Chorus and is currently preparing for the upcoming Spring concert, while also playing on the lacrosse team. Her hard work and consistency have earned her high honor roll for the first two marking periods. She approaches every responsibility with creativity, focus, and a positive attitude. We’re excited to see what the future has in store for her!
Nicholas
Nicholas Johnson has been part of the Liberty Partnership Program for the past two years and has truly made the most of it. He’s a hardworking student who always pushes himself to do his best and take pride in his academics. Outside the classroom, Nicholas is a dedicated dual-sport athlete, playing hockey and even earning a spot on the JV baseball team as an 8th grader. What really stands out is how he supports those around him—he’s always willing to help his peers. Keep up the great work, Nicholas!
